UX design is all about the overall feel of the experience, while UI design is all about how the product’s interfaces look and function.
UX is considered as a first approach to product design. It focuses on full experience from the scratch to last. It is in the form of structural design which Users may encounter during experiencing Product.
User experience embraces all aspects of the end-user’s interaction with the company, its services, and its products. User experience design is, in theory, a non-digital practice, but used and defined effectively by digital industries.
UI focuses on visual touchpoints to allow users to interact with a product. It is th recombination of typography, color palettes, buttons, Animations & Imagery. UI design transfers the brand’s strengths and visual estates to a product’s interface, making sure the design is persistent, coherent, and aesthetically pleasing.
User interface design is a total digital practice. It favors all the visual, interactive elements of a product interface—including buttons, icons, spacing, typography, color schemes, and responsive design.
The goal of UI design is to visually guide the user through a product’s interface. It’s all about creating an intuitive experience that doesn’t require the user to think too much.
5 Ingredients of UX:
A designer needs to give high try as have to cover all range of
There are many subconscious factors that ultimately cause a user to take a specific action on a website. Knowing some basic principles of psychology can help tip the odds in your favor. Here are some basic principles you can use to help better persuade your site visitors.
- Reciprocity – If you give someone something of value for free, they are more likely to reciprocate and become a customer.
- Commitment – If you can get a site visitor to make a small initial commitment up front, they are more likely to follow through with a larger commitment later. Brainstorm ways to encourage visitors to make a small commitment
- Social Proof – Start collecting and posting reviews of the product/service today. It can be a powerful motivating force in the decision-making process.
- Authority – Authority works at a subconscious level. When we feel a bit uncertain about something, a person of authority can usually tip our thoughts and perceptions quite easily. You can create a sense of authority within your website by using academic titles, listing certifications and using testimonials from legitimate authorities.
- Scarcity – Scarcity is a powerful principle that is tied in to our reptilian brain stem, which evolved to serve the needs of survival. When resources are scarce, people can act quite impulsively, leading to irrational behavioral responses. Here are some ways you can use this principle on your own website.
Master the basics:
Warm Colors: Red, orange, and yellow are considered as warm colors, and also variations of those three colors. These are the colors of sunsets and sunrises, of fire, of fall leaves, and are generally passionate, energizing, and positive.
Cool colors: Green, blue, and purple are considered as cool colors, and are often more subdued than warm colors. They are the colors of water, of night, of nature, and are usually relaxing, calming, and somewhat reserved.
Neutral Colors: Black, white, gray, brown, beige & tan are considered as Neutral colors. They often aid as the backdrop in design. They’re commonly combined with brighter accent colors. But they can also be utilized on their own in designs, and can create very sophisticated layouts
Check the common meanings of the colors:
- Red: Passion, Love, Anger
- Orange: Energy, Happiness, Vitality
- Yellow: Happiness, Hope, Deceit
- Green: New Beginnings, Abundance, Nature
- Blue: Calm, Responsible, Sadness
- Purple: Creativity, Royalty, Wealth
- Black: Mystery, Elegance, Evil
- Gray: Moody, Conservative, Formality
- White: Purity, Cleanliness, Virtue
- Brown: Nature, Wholesomeness, Dependability
- Tan or Beige: Conservative, Piety, Dull
- Cream or Ivory: Calm, Elegant, Purity
Hue is the most basic of color terms and stands for an object’s color. (blue, green, red, etc.).
Chroma represents the purity of a color (a high chroma has no added black, white or gray).
Saturation suggests how strong or weak a color is (high saturation being strong).
Value specifies how light or dark a color is (light having a high value).
Tones are made adding gray to a color, making it duller than the original.
Shades are made adding black to a color, making it darker than the original.
Tints are made adding white to a color, making it lighter than the original.
Monochromatic schemes are made up of various tones, shades and tints within a specific hue.
Analogous Color Scheme:
Analogous color schemes have the same chroma level, using tones, shades, and tints. Analogous schemes are made using three colors that are next to each other on the 12-spoke color wheel.
Complementary schemes are made by combining colors from opposite sides of the color wheel. These schemes consist of only two colors, but can easily be extended using tones, tints, and shades.
Split complementary schemes add more complexity than regular one. In this scheme, instead of using colors that are opposites, you can use colors of the hue opposite to your base hue.
Triadic schemes are created of hues uniformly spaced around the 12-spoke color wheel.
Tetradic ( Double complementary ):
Tetradic color schemes can work well while making color schemes with similar chromas and values.
Different color schemes are symbolic for different roles to get represented in different color shades & patterns.
2. Grid systems
Grid binds all the elements of the design so elegantly that the design comes out as effective, in hierarchical manner, properly aligned & consistent.
3. Composition & Balance
Arranging both positive elements and negative space in such a way that no one area of the design overpowers other areas is called balancing a composition.
Symmetrical balance happens when equal weights are on equal sides of a composition, balanced around a fulcrum or axis in the center.
Asymmetrical balance comes from unequal visual weight on each side of the composition.
Radial balance happens when elements radiate from a common center.
Mosaic balance (or crystallographic balance) comes from balanced chaos.
Typography is a necessary element that uplifts a design and gives it a personality. For designers, typography is a way to use text as a visual to bring a brand message. This design element is necessary for designers not only to build personality, conduct a message but also to grab the viewer’s attention, build a hierarchy, brand recognition, harmony and establish value and nature of a brand.
A wireframe with lines, boxes & labels can be said as a technical document. It’s like a blueprint. Wireframes provide an overview of the page structure, layout, info architecture, user flow, functionality, and intended behaviors. wireframe represents the fundamental product concept, styling, color, and graphics. It can be drawn by hand or created digitally, depending on how much detail is required as it keeps the concept user-focused.
A process of transforming Ideas from paper into digital form. Prototyping can be quick, rough & useful for early-stage testing and learning. Prototyping gives scope to explore the alternative options before finalizing anything and go to the next stage that is Mockups. It helps in understanding & dealing with real time problems that users might face while navigating inside the app.
Generally, The combination of style, colors & content is named as Mockups. All the screens available inside the App have been structured according to the mockups. Mockups support representation of the App. Users can get the idea about Application. It can be called as a static high-profile visual design draft.
8. Logo designing & Branding
Logo is an identity that your brand holds. It gives the ability to stand out from the competition. A successful logo can draw the attention of a user who visits AppStore or Google Play having another application in mind. The app icon should be scalable so that it looks good in different resolutions.
